Focus 2025
Focus also kicked off the new year with a New Year’s party and its first national assembly / meeting. This included a look back at 2024 and a look ahead to the new year.
In 2024, the number of Fokus members remained stable. The party is now on a stable financial footing and the first audit by the Court of Auditors was also positive. The debts that the party still has from the last elections will be repaid in spring 2025, so the focus is already on the next election opportunities.
Politically, the party has focused in recent weeks on pension reform, the functioning of our rule of law and compulsory civilian service. Looking ahead to the coming months and years, the party has given itself a new political direction by defining several core issues on which it will focus in particular in its work and communication and which should sharpen its profile. These are
- Family policy and education
- Rule of law and security
- Housing and growth
In these policy areas, Fokus has already distinguished itself in the past with striking positions, for example on parental leave (reduction in working hours without loss of pay), civilian service for young people, growth in and with the Greater Region, a rule of law that has the necessary resources, and much more.
There should also be an even stronger focus on the civic values that clearly form the foundation of our society and on which a sensible policy must continue to be based in the future.
From the education and care of children and young people to our behavior as adults in society and our lifelong commitment to our society. These civic values have already been reflected in our recent positions.
This and much more will also be the focus of the congress, which will take place on April 27.
